It was the hottest June I have seen In my 7 years in central Texas(have I been her 7 years?!!!)I am actually amazed that I have not completely melted away at my weekend gig at the farmers market and that I was able to brave every Saturday in June! So .... I am taking July 5th off and actually the first part of the week off and headin' down to Houston for a much belated (like 2 years)trip to spend time with my bff and burger's God mama. I will be taking 'Holiday'(hey- I watched "flushed away" like 15 times in a week) for the next week so the Belle and Burger shop (etsy and at the Market) We will be back up July 7Th.
********Some of June in review*************
~I got this beautiful new sign (thanks baps!!) a product of Sunsigns. They did a fantastic job
~I had some fun people stop by the market this month. I met this sweet gal from the bay area that mentioned me in her Weird Vegetables blog where their motto is..." Eat vegetables. weird ones. and other things we think you should do"
My sweet friends and en laws are always out showing their support
~Nanny got us this awesome new floor mat at the beginning of the month from my favorite outdoor store The Natural Gardener
It is 97% recycled plastic and as easy on the eyes as it is to hose down at the end of a dirty day at the pool or beach(if we ever went to the beach)
~The aprons have been getting lots of attention so as promised I will have an apron give away going up this weekend!
Anyway this is a bit scatterbrained I am a little sleepy and excited about my little holiday...Have a happy and safe 4Th of July , see you at the market; we will be back there July 12Th!

Custom Skirt for Houston and Weekend preview
I recently mailed a custom skirt and shirt to Houston. Of course I did not manage to get a day time photo but I did scan in the pocket .
I also made a patch for the back of the tank( one of my new fav decorations for the tanks ...it becomes a reversable tank the patch can be a crew neck front look or a middle of the back accent.)
I can't get enough of these little circle appliques inspired by ZiaZia's broaches at velcro.
I will still have the printed tanks( no patches). I am putting the patches on the solid colored backs to juice them up a little.
I want to put the little appliques on my undies as well, I had a little stumble with my panty production because instead of stretch lace (that I had ordered on e-bay) I received collector holiday ornaments of the 'night before Christmas'!!!????
Anyway that is hopefully being taken care of so we will see...
Also this week I will have new aprons and boy shorts( no photos yet) and of course skirts! I have this beautiful green linen little number I have been pouring over for some time sooo ... very excited to finally finish her.

Burgers new crayon pouch
Burger has been a mad man with the crayons lately, drawing lots and lots!( am I just thrilled or what)
I made this crayon pouch off a great tutorial off Nested . My friend babybolt gave me this link over a year ago. I made a few as gifts and altered the pattern to make all sorts of pouches , but burger is finally old enough for his own crayon pouch and he just loves taking all the crayons out. It is not exactly like the tutorial because I just sort of winged it . I got the awesome fabric at the Joannes humongous sale and came home and was just so inspired to just whip it up . I like to think the pouch inspired this Burger masterpiece
I forgot to take a photo of the pouch rolled up so instead... here is a cute burger pic in his chair his Donda gave him!

Panties and patches and pockets, Oh My!
I made some more panties ...Yay! Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. I am still working out the sizes (these I believe are 6's ), and the edging( elastiasize or not) ; but I wore a pair( not pictured ) all day and the were super comfy way; beyond my expectations. Who knew you could make your own undies?
Anyway this is just getting more exciting for me because I just got "Sew U Home Stretch:The built by Wendy guide to sewing knit fabrics"
I think it has all the secrets I have been searching for! So look out for knit dresses cause they are coming!
But for now panties
and patches(pockets)

Manly cards
"Young Buck" 3.75"x5.5''
I posted some new cards on etsy yesterday that I must say are a little more masculine than my usual look( can greeting cards be masculine?). Any who I heart them, and they arrived almost too late for father's day.
"Stallion" 7.5"x5.5"
I used a Tea stained( tea staining is a very manly activity, like holding up a train ) rives bfk printmaking paper to house my collaged images.
"Train rustlin' "3.75"x5.5''
"Roar" 7.5"x5.5"
Each image is composed from vintage sewn fabric and recycled papers. Card interior is recycled brown paper bag.
