Handmade Market Place Giveaway; I want to share with you

~Recently I had the sweet luck to receive a copy of this lovely inspirational and practical read, Handmade Market Place by Kari Chapin. I knew months ago when this book came out that it would enthrall my crafty brain simply based on the contributors alone, those Kari calls her creative collective; Amy Karol( angrychicken), Natalie Zee Drieu(craftzine), Diane Gilleland( craftypod), Jenny Ryan(homeecshop) were just a few of my craft heroes dropping their knowledge on you in this volume of crafty goodness. I was squealy excited when I got my copy and realized it was sprinkled with the loveliest illustrations from Emily Martin(The black apple).

~I could have then been let down pretty easily considering I was expecting crafty biblical experiences from this sweet little paperback. However Kari and her collective do not disappoint. As and overall nut shell explanation of what really made this book stand out for me; It made me super excited about the modern Craft movement and ensured me that I could be a part of it, and showed me exactly how to take part in my own unique way. No matter where anyone is or which direction they are heading on their creative travels this book has some knowledge to extend to you. I want to share this book with one of you lovely readers, cause its the kind of thing you just want to spread around! So leave me a comment telling me why you love to make things. On June 6Th, I will pick a winner to send my copy to....love Y'all to bits
PS I need an email from everyone in order to enter you in the giveaway...some of you do not have an email on your bloggerprofile if not leave your email in the comment if you really want to win

I love to make things because I want my ideas to be real! I love being able to have an idea and see how it plays out, and see how other people interpret the same types of inspiration.

I make things for lots of reasons! To "pretty up" my home, to give a gift, to make extra money, to be able to say "thanks! I made that!" when I get complimented on something I'm wearing. Mostly I do it for the feeling I get when a project is finished and I'm able to step back and admire the fruits of my labor!

I love to make things because it is meditative and relaxing for me. And it makes other folks happy :)

I love to make things to give other people and see their faces light up. The things I treasure most from my childhood were handmade with love, and I enjoy passing that love on to others.

Love this topic! And I've been drooling over this book!! eee!

I make things because..
I feel happiest when I'm creating
and when I'm making things with my hands, collecting and using supplies and tools, knowing I'm using and reusing supplies and materials around me instead of always buying new. expressing my own vision of my world, and adding that to the world I share. I make things to share what I know, the skills I have are crafty, I teach others how to make things by showing them. I encourage others to create things and share things themselves. <3

I make things because I have to be creative in some way everyday. And I want to inspire othes to be creative too, because I believe everybody needs to find their way to be creative in life. It doesn't have to be art and craft. It can be cooking, baking, sports and other things as long as it feels meaningful, gives you energy and a way to express who you are. :-)

I love to make things because I love working with my hands, I love problem solving, I love seeing my ideas come to fruition. I am so glad I found this crafting world. It gives me such joy!

Creating things with your own hands is great on many different levels, mainly because it adds meaning and personal value to what you have, instead of just having a home of less-personal things that you purchased from a store that likely had the items made in unjust working conditions in other parts of the world.

I love to make things because.... it's like a moving meditation for me... the focus... the quiet... concentration... AND I love giving things to people that I've made... such total JOY!

I love to make things by hand because it is so much more meaningful. You took the time to think of that person and make the gift especially for them. It is so very thoughtful.

Mostly I love to make things for other people. I love to see their faces when they see what I made just for them. Then later, when you see that they are really using what you have made for them, that's the best. Like the stuffed bunny I made for my three year old a couple weeks ago. He takes it everywhere. Sleeps with it and even tried to put it in the bath with him. When people see it and ask him about it, he very proudly says that his momma made it. Besides, I have to do something with all my energy! It drives my family crazy that the only time I sit down is when I am sewing or driving.
P.S. I thoroughly enjoy your blog!

I learn to make new things in new mediums as a way to keep my brain thinking outside the proverbial box. Over the years I have made serious CRAFT, sub-par art, fun crafty-crafts, handmade originally designed goods for sale at homes, to friends, at fairs and markets and online. I like to have different projects going at the same time so I can work them off of each other. An agate and glass star necklace with copper accents shares mind space with stitching stars onto the pocket of an up-cycled t-shirt dress for my 4yr old daughter and then becomes a foray into copper wire work to build my skill set. Craft and creativity are like vitamins I NEED to take everyday but lucky for me, they are super awesome and tasty chocolate coated to better the deal! Sprinkle, stitch, summarize, swirl, sample, stamp, scatter, simplify, string, sell, share, stir, stupefy, sigh, slump, stump, sing and satisfy. Make and enjoy!

Hi! This is great because I´m pregnant with the idea to begin my little shop!
I love make things, to produce them. When I see something in a shop often I let it saying "You can do this!". But it´s not possible to give all you make as a gift, friends and family have a lot... so why not sell the products to people who like crafted items but not making them themselves?
I would love to read this book!
Thank you for this giveaway,
Susuko.
