Moving!

~I guess you could not pick a worst time for me personally to try and move than the first of December. Not only is non stop craft cram time but it is also birthday month. But when you must move, you must... and we are. I might be a little bit gone but I will be pining for a you.

A PaleFace Birthday getaway

~In lieu of a birthday party for my 2 main men this year we opted for a quick overnight camping trip at the near by state park Pace bend.( formerly Pale Face park but was changed because it was offensive to us hill billies?) ~The park is located on Lake Travis just west of Austin
It is hard to believe this was Burger's first camping trip but It was. He was really into chasing critters(little ones) and looking at and making tracks in the soft sandy dirt. We all had a great time and it felt like a lot longer than just overnight. Right when It got dark Burger said" I am scared.. I am scared of my shadow", so daddy and burger played shadow games and overcame that fear at least for a little while. In the morning we ran around on the extra large shore line( due to the drought) and looked at flowers and fish.

Comal county Birthday

It has been a week since my big 25Th (hehehehe)birthday that I celebrated in Grand (country) style in Comal County with 5 fabulous pals and my handsome King. Anyway I purposefully waited to write this post so I could blame time instead of alcohol for my memory loss.

~We traveled to Gruene Texas ~we arrived to an adorable old "haus"


~with all it's beautiful yard accessories



~ The house was situated in the back parking lot of the infamous honkytonk Rileys tavern ...known as the place" where my liqour loved to flow" or so I had heard...I now know that it is because they are the only place around that serves liquor not just beer and wine; a perfect nightcap for our gang
We got all dolled up and headed out to ring in my next year I remember Houston told me she was wearing her Loretta hair... and i knew it was just for me (sorry T).
~It was very cold as we rode to into a 'well lit' festive looking New Braunsfel to have a birthday dinner(i don't think I ever new the name of the restaurant. It was very nice though and there was a pig in the back courtyard that looked like our hound Gram. We went to Gruene and I did not take in the memory maker . It was loud and crowded and Fun!(yes Jason was very handsome but not as handsome as Daddy ) Thanks for all the birthday wishes !

happy birthday from me: new shirt and arm warmers

~"I am the happiest girl in the whole USA"~move over Donna Fargo, because I am going to Jason Boland and the Stragglers on Saturday night. My gal in Houston loves me so much that she is taking me !!!That along with my wondrous family and friends definitely makes me one of the happiest gals in Texas (that is bigger than the USA anyway isn't it?) It will be my first visit to Gruene Hall and I made myself a new shirt to wear with my new boots and wranglers. I made it a cap sleeve ~then I made some red sweater knit arm warmers(my first non recycled leg wear pair) to wear with. Maybe I will have better pictures later. I think I love them all! I received this super fabulous cow~gal necklace,just in time for the big nite out, from my sweet Fraulein, BlueMama .
