Baby its cold outside.

Yay central Texas weather ! Friday highs were in the low 80s Saturday the high was in the 40's!!!!????? Daddy had to bring me a big thermos of hot tea at the market...
....Because his crazy Georgia peach decided this would be a perfect day to start back up at the market. I do really well in freezing cold, cloudy weather, right?
Anyway we are back ....and it was very cold. Not alot of people stopping too look at clothes in cold, cloudy, windy, weather, however I did sale a hat to my good pal ...she wears it well.
I was happy to keep my new Teapot apron for a little longer...

...I 'm a little teapot short and stout!
..and here is my cup with my earl grey

~I have also been working on panties for valentines day ... here is a little panty and tank set I finished just in time for the 40+ temp.~ I added some lingering holiday barrettes.... and an orphaned pin cushion to my stock this week.~as you might have noticed from the barrettes, I finally got some new"old" buttons and was really enjoying them this week.

~Daddy printed some of his airplanes on some ts and onesies this week, I just love them!

so that is the post view ...hopefully next week will be warmer.

Gator pants and more!! Look what I made

~Well I guess I am only partially responsible for this masterpiece

...but his gator pants and new roomy wool hat I made 100%

...I have been in make OVERDRIVE!! I have also been in 'forgetting to take photos LAND' and I have the lack of photos to prove it( I have sold many of these items and I am tearful).
I had my first trunk show ( more like wicker basket show hehehe) in North (central )Austin last week and left my camera at home AGAIN!!!It was fun, fun, fun and hopefully the hostess will send me a few pix(hint). I will call her "Tea lady"; And I am incredibly grateful to her for having me and my basket o' goods over along with a gaggle of cool mama's. Thanks Tea lady !!!
I did manage to take a few photos this weekend of some new goodies

~This Texas apron is still around.~ I designed this new raglan look seen here under the TEX apron that I am really lovin' on. ~It has sweater knit sleeves with ribbing as the arm bands. I have been playing with sweater knits ever since I started making the arm warmers. ...Anyway I had a lot of interested buyers but I was not quite ready to part with it so I called it a prototype that needs work(or to be worn by me or a good friend ..hint hint). What do y'all think?

~I also made Two more chic aprons that sold Saturday. I kind wanted to hang on to this one(I loved it sew) but of course it was the first to go.~ The patch on this on and the TEX apron are made from quilted pieces that I am told are from the 40's( and I believe it) .
~The quilted pieces are so precious to me. The artist who made them had such a great color sensibility I feel honored and very lucky to be able to collaborate with her. ~I also made this brownie one ~It is made from all new fabrics but the buttons were all vintage ~I had a lot of fun with the buttons on this apron.
~ I have a quick etsy shop announcement. I will not re-stocking my shop any time soon. If you see something you like, or something you would like me to make you a variation of, I would be more than thrilled. I make custom orders All the time ! If you are curious about sizes, or want to request a certain size of an item, I am very accommodating! You can email me or visit me at the market and we can make it work!! I am working on an actual 'Belle and Burger' online shop of my very own ....opening in 2009 (probably February) thanks guys!

Custom Chic and a New Market Spot

~Another Saturday another day at the Farmers Market. It was a bit nippy out there as you can see Blue Mama is lookin' a a wee bit frozen here. We moved to the other aisle which was a first on that side for me... and I am really feeling it, I think my partner is too(are you feeling it girl?)
Anyway it was a particularly bubbly day for me..not quite sure why. Maybe it was blue mama's new men's shaving soap(lalalalove these)!
I am feeling particularly snuggly about this new custom apron I made.~I lost my little chic pattern I had been previously using so this is a tweaked chic. ~This chic is made from some vintage quilted pieces I have hoarded for quite some time.

~I used a little of the leftovers on the pocket to make a flower
This is really my first holiday season as a maker selling made stuff, so maybe that is what is sew exciting and fun...I love how personal people get when they are buying gifts; I love being part of a special gift! (I am a dork, I know cali-trans) oh well tootaloo

A few things I loved and set free

*************( No way not the burger)

I always feel so behind in my week working up to the market. I try to be organized and start working early but inevitably I am up till 2 am on Friday night working away... Then when I lay down to try to sleep get excited about setting up the market in the morning and getting to put all my new creations up for people to see and hopefully talk about and perhaps even purchase. I use to call this feeling anxiety now I have calmed my nerves a bit. There have been quite a few goodies that have left me unremembered(no picture); I have a terrible memory so no picture = no recollection. Lately I have been toting my camera with me to try and catch a few recollections.
Several of these things sold and I even traded a few to fellow vendors(LOVE that)

This apron sold pretty early. It is the first featuring a rooster from a sweet old table cloth , The skirt was a panel from an IKEA curtain, I really felt sort of hokey putting this together but I just loved the end result(Hey I am sort of hokey and I am OK with it).

I also sold this onesie pretty early too. It has a little Giraffe calf (a sleeping giraffe calf!) on it! I don't usually throw up my appliqued things on here but I just really love that calf...I bought the fabric for burger because it has all these elephants bathing and tooting around I didn't even notice the little calf till I started cutting out elephants.
I also got back into some undies this week , I finished up a couple that I had hanging around half done
These ones ( the green and blue ones)I traded for vegetables! Panties for produce ...only at Sunset valley Farmers Market

I made this little nightie set...jeez you know I don't think I would have ever thought I would think dinosaurs could be kinda sexy but... what do you think? Hot mama's pajamas

I also traded this little vintage fabric Owl skirt for some new bling. Owls remind me of fall for some reason and if we can't have real fall weather we can have pretend fall with color and animals. I am very thrilled with this trade I made with m2 (she has no link but has a booth at the market and sells at Parts an Labor.
I will post some photos of my booty from the trade when I take pictures.

So farewell to all you sweet inspirations I am hope you are loved to pieces

Thank you Dada for always helping me so much
