Weekend preview...aha I did it!

So I am doing a weekend preview instead of a post view. I have been trying to get a "preview-a-week" going for about 4 months. No promises I will do this every week but maybe ....baby steps.

~I am posting three things; just a little snapshot of what I am working on for Saturday~

I sold my last little wallet (tea) this past Saturday and I had several requests for other types of wallets rather than the tea wallet. One request was not really a wallet but more of a hybrid between a crayon roll pouch and a wallet that was big enough to hold all sorts of crafty tools specifically knitting needles and embroidery supplies. I kinda love it! I can't wait to see what the crafty lady traveler thinks of it. It is tall enough for 12" knitting needles.

This was a tiny piece of a vintage quilt square that I had in my extra special scrap bucket...I think the squares are from the 40's or 50's. I stitched it to the flap that folds down to keep everything in place.

The design is needles in back row other crafty stuff in front row.
There is a even place for a tiny hoop
and a little snap wallet for sewing needles.It folds in thirds with an elastic button closure.


There is also plenty of space for other tools. So I am calling this a craft pouch, 'cause what postmodern lady can choose just ONE craft to take on a trip.



I also had a mamaversary gift to make (a great occasion coined by my blue mama ). Every time your child has a birthday you also celebrate your own mamaversary. I did not take photos of her darling little Ipod nano cozy cause I am a spaz ( I am sure she will let me snap a few)
Anyway I made another for the market it has two pockets one for earphones and one for your ipod nano. It is made from vintage and recycled fabric and a nice wooden button that is also recycled.

The final preview I have is full Owl apron that I am very excited about! Last week I showed you a vintage fabric skirt with an owl appliqued pocket. On this apron I used that same owl pattern for the smock.

He is standing on a little branch and there is a little tree appliqued /machine embroidered on the pocket...it has no leaves cause I am itching for cooler weather.




I used a combination of vintage, recycled and new fabrics,

and put it all together~ back view...



....and the front I will be adding some things to my etsy shop early next week (I promise DC)

~New bling and new kicks~

So Dada really needed some new shoes this week since he said he was slipping when he was working on top of a roof because he has no tread left on his shoes~ and BIG dog really likes them...Ok, so I staged the photo a little he- is actually waiting patiently to be fed (food bowl not pictured)



And I was able to provide for his new shoes after the market...yay market! I Also of course needed a new pair of shoes.
So I went to whole earth provisions to get the crocs that look like flats( i know it is terrible but I love them) but they were all gone, however I had spied these cuties back when Nanny bought Merle his green crocs.
They were way too pricey and too wintry( or what passes for winter in Texas)back in May. Lucky for me they were still available in my size and 1/2 the price! I really love them...sweet little horned owls.
I also traded my owl skirt that I just posted yesterday~ for this beautiful necklace.



The flower is pure silver( which means like 99. something% pure) I just love the heaviness of the tiny thing; and the soft smoothness when you touch the metal and the bead is recycled glass(I love m2's little metal tags)
I also have another little something coming from her(M2)I will post it later.
My final weekend acquisition was from the ever so talented Blue Mama. I really love the simplicity of these earrings. The buttons are vintage on a hoop that she fashioned from sterling silver wire. I wore these blue flower earrings to the market on Saturday and got all kinds of compliments .

They are light as a feather and super comfortable.Especially these little green babies, I wore them for 3 days straight to bed and everything(...oops). I only took them out to take these photos.
I know she has multiples of the blue flower button ones that she is putting up for sell in her etsy shop. Her prices are super reasonable and you can do combos like lavender vanilla lip balm and Modgepodge recycled fabric earrings as gifts for your BFF( like me; well I bought orange blossom and a necklace...you get the idea). By the way she also puts fabric remnants on the lip balm tins making them sweet inside and out .





Lately I am really loving my sweet lips agave-rose lip balm.
the texture is creamy perfection and the tint is just right with my sunny market kissed skin.

I am truly lucky to have found a kindred soul in such a talented intelligent lady(love you blue mama)

A few things I loved and set free

*************( No way not the burger)

I always feel so behind in my week working up to the market. I try to be organized and start working early but inevitably I am up till 2 am on Friday night working away... Then when I lay down to try to sleep get excited about setting up the market in the morning and getting to put all my new creations up for people to see and hopefully talk about and perhaps even purchase. I use to call this feeling anxiety now I have calmed my nerves a bit. There have been quite a few goodies that have left me unremembered(no picture); I have a terrible memory so no picture = no recollection. Lately I have been toting my camera with me to try and catch a few recollections.
Several of these things sold and I even traded a few to fellow vendors(LOVE that)

This apron sold pretty early. It is the first featuring a rooster from a sweet old table cloth , The skirt was a panel from an IKEA curtain, I really felt sort of hokey putting this together but I just loved the end result(Hey I am sort of hokey and I am OK with it).

I also sold this onesie pretty early too. It has a little Giraffe calf (a sleeping giraffe calf!) on it! I don't usually throw up my appliqued things on here but I just really love that calf...I bought the fabric for burger because it has all these elephants bathing and tooting around I didn't even notice the little calf till I started cutting out elephants.
I also got back into some undies this week , I finished up a couple that I had hanging around half done
These ones ( the green and blue ones)I traded for vegetables! Panties for produce ...only at Sunset valley Farmers Market



I made this little nightie set...jeez you know I don't think I would have ever thought I would think dinosaurs could be kinda sexy but... what do you think? Hot mama's pajamas

I also traded this little vintage fabric Owl skirt for some new bling. Owls remind me of fall for some reason and if we can't have real fall weather we can have pretend fall with color and animals. I am very thrilled with this trade I made with m2 (she has no link but has a booth at the market and sells at Parts an Labor.
I will post some photos of my booty from the trade when I take pictures.
